Stop lying, tell Nigerians Buhari’s health status – Junaid hits FG again

Second Republic lawmaker, Dr. Junaid Mohammed, yesterday once again slammed the federal government for allegedly lying about the health of President Muhammadu Buhari.
He said Nigerians cannot afford to face another constitutional crisis as a result of the President’s ailing health.

The Presidential spokesperson, Garba Shehu had attacked Mohammed on Monday saying he was suffering from pathological cynicism.
According to Shehu, “Mohammed’s kind of critics is toxic to national progress because they are only primarily interested in destroying every positive effort and achievements of the government and we advise Nigerians to be wary of prejudiced and biased critics like Dr. Junaid Mohammed who are more interested in personal publicity than respecting facts and figures about their claims”.
But reacting to Sheu’s statement, Mohammed said the Presidential spokesperson should stop telling Nigerians lies about his health, just as he maintained that General Sanni Abacha remained one of the healthiest President Nigeria ever had.

His words, “I believe Shehu is under pressure which is why he attacked me.

“However, I believe strongly they need to stop lying to Nigerians about Mr President’s health. Can they actually tell Nigerians what this medical leave or routine check-up is? They don’t seem to be telling us the truth.
“If I am to comment on issues that concern Nigerians, I won’t shy away from telling President Buhari the home truth anywhere he is making mistakes. I criticized General Abacha as Head of State and told him some truths in private and sometimes face to face. I believe if people can challenge their friends in power, it shows they are not intimidated by the powerful”.

“If Aisha Buhari can say what she said about her husband, I think the President needs to check himself and retrace his steps on some issues that concern the country. I think the question the President needs to ask himself is that after one he has taken over the reigns of power, what has changed? Is Nigeria better off than when he took over on May 29, 2015? The truth is that Nigeria is worse off today than when Buhari took over the reigns of power.

“Every Nigerian today is worse off and nothing seems to be working under this government. Some who are rich in 2015 cannot say same today due to the economic woes that Nigeria is presently experiencing and we cannot continue to close our eyes off it”.

He further explained that, “This administration has failed in taming the economic woes that seems to have turned everyone poor in present day Nigeria. Even though the administration made some giant strides in the fight against Boko Haram, the country is still not safe as people still live in fears even in Kano today. And there are also political crises in the party where President won his own election. So the President seems to be at war with everyone including the National Assembly members.

“I believe President Buhari should engage in turning around the fortunes of Nigeria economically, politically and security wise. By now, his administration should have stopped blaming the Jonathan government for their woes. I believe that in Politics, you take assets and liabilities”.

Why Nollywood stars run into poverty – Queen Nwokoye

Popular Nollywood actress, Queen Nwokoye, has explained why most of her colleagues run into poverty.
She blamed it on false lifestyle and trying to live up to people’s expectations as celebrities.

The ‘Chetanna’ thespian, in a chat with BroadwayAfrica TV, said, “Some people think we get paid 10 million for acting; so a lot of times, actors want to live up to false expectations from their fans and that is how they get into trouble.

“As far as I am concerned, if you are paid in Nigeria and you want a Gucci bag and you convert your Naira to dollars to go and buy it because Kim Kardashian is carrying it, it doesn’t make sense because she earns dollars.

So for me it is not about being extravagant, everybody loves the good things of life but you have to draw a balance. It is about not truly making that huge amount that actors and actresses make.

“Nahhh, I don’t think it is because they are being extravagant, how many people are to begin with? The truth of the matter is a lot of people are known faces but they are not actually making the type of money people think they make.

“Then again, it is an individual thing, it is either you are here or you are there but the truth is a lot of people don’t make that kind of money they think we have,” the 35-year-old quipped.

Buhari’s daughter’s wedding put on hold over expensive gifts

The wedding ceremony between Zahra, daughter of Nigeria’s president Muhammadu Buhari and the son of Maiduguri billionaire businessman, Mohammed Indimi, which is scheduled for December 4, 2016, has been put on hold indefinitely, sources close to the first family said.

Speaking on the postponed wedding, the sources said the wedding was put on hold following insistence of President Muhammadu Buhari that he was not comfortable with the attention his daughter’s wedding was receiving in the media, particularly with news of customised wedding boxes as gifts to Zahra, costing a whopping N44m.

Sources said introduction ceremony between both families had earlier held at the Aso Villa, Abuja on Friday, November 18, but the wedding programme itself scheduled between Wednesday 30th November and Sunday 4th December, 2016, is supposed to be a low-key celebration as the President desires it to be a simple and an intimate ceremony to be attended by only close family and friends.

“But the whole media attention has changed everything now and the President is not happy,” our source said.

t was also gathered that the President who has ordered that a security check be conducted on Ahmed and his source of stupendous wealth, is also not comfortable with the groom’s father, Alhaji Mohammed Indimi’s perceived closeness to ex-President Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida, who is believed to be against the emergence of Buhari in 2015.

Sources said President Buhari who had such information at his disposal before consenting to the marriage may have been prevailed upon by his closest political allies to have a rethink on giving out his daughter to the Indimis.

Zahra, 21-years old has been in the news recently following circulation on the social media of images of her expensive wedding gifts.

“If Your Husband Lacks The Fear Of God, You’Re On Your Own” – Omotola To Ladies

At the recently held Africa International Film Festival in Lagos, Omotola Jalade-Ekehinde shares the opinion that sharing faith with one’s spouse and being disciplined are both key to a good marriage.

She says, “If you’re a Christian and you marry someone who is not born again then you are on your own. Your partner needs to be stronger than you. They are the ones getting the aftermath of your own action.

“Pick someone who sees your heart, your soul, someone who sees the real you and not afraid to tell you about your flaws.

Discipline is key. Everyone wants freedom but too much freedom is bad. Be disciplined. It’s better to be an enemy to a work partner than to your family…

She also advised against giving in to advances to get movie roles. “Sometimes you will get a role for giving yourself out but you won’t be able to retain it. If you become famous it will later haunt you.”

Omotola has been married since 1996, and has four with her husband.

See What Etisalat And MTN Are Planning To Do About The Increase In Data Price

Management workers of two telecom giants have revealed the current situation on ground to PUNCH..
Speaking on the condition of anonymity, a senior management employee of Etisalat Nigeria said:

The NCC issued the directive late last week on the orders of the Federal Government. We have not announced it yet because most of the major telcos have been meeting the NCC on how to reverse this policy, because it will be too harsh for Nigerians.

“However, we further gathered that the Federal Government took the decision having discovered that data rates are very low-priced in Nigeria, compared to other countries, including nearby African countries.

“The government might have also taken the decision given that Nigerian subscribers have been kicking against the proposed nine per cent Communication Tax, whose bill is currently in the National Assembly.”

Pleading not to be mentioned, an employee of MTN said:

“What this means is that MTN, Airtel, Etisalat And Globacom will increase their data rates as from December 1, 2016. A data plan of N1,000 for 1.5 Gigabytes will now be increased to N3,000 at N1,000 per 500 Megabytes.”

According to the controversial journalist, young ladies in Nigeria look up to multi-media personality and 90% are already sex workers who have no idea how to secure a decent job like hers.

Kemi, who took to her Instagram page to lambaste Toke, said her outfit to the book launch was totally inappropriate.

Kemi said, “For the kind of year she’s had with the disastrous video urging young women to be promiscuous–have a one night stand, kiss a stranger, and revelations in this book about Maje Ayida, making her do a Compromising Video, seeing his own Compromising Video with the mistress and was pressured to bleach due to low self-esteem because Anita the mistress was fair and half Lebanese, she should have dressed more conservative to the event.

“I’m sorry Toke, I’m a feminist but keep things real. I have to slut shame you. This dress was “Chrissy Teigen Slutty”. You did NOT need the high slit!

“Without the slit you would have been a GEM in that outfit. Your stylist should be FIRED immediately! Take lessons from my letter I wrote you earlier this year. Advertisers and sponsors are watching your brand.

“2017 has no space for this. Young ladies in Nigeria look up to you and 90% are already sex workers who have no idea how to secure a decent job like yours.
“Even fashion crazed Linda Ikeji whom I’ve ripped for years will not dress like this to her own book or launch event. Good luck on the book.

Why I dumped Islam – Bobrisky

Cross-dressing and bleaching advocate, Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky, has explained why he is not a practicing Muslim.

The Ogun-State born cross dresser, born into a Muslim background noted that his way of life does not go in tune with Islam.

In a chat with Vanguard, Bobrisky, fondly called “Africa’s First Male Barbie said, “I am not a practicing Muslim.

If I have to be a practicing Muslim, I will have to do ablution five times a day and apply make-up after each ablution and that will be very stressful.

“I started going to church as an undergraduate. My room-mate was one of the executives of the Christian Fellowship.

“So I got fascinated and usually joined them to pray. I know prayer works and do that daily.
“My Muslim name is Idris. I don’t really have a Christian name. But I use ‘Olanrewaju’ as cover; by this, people will not know if I am a Christian or a Muslim.”

On how his father reacted to his ‘new’ religion, the 25-year-old said, “I love my dad so much. He didn’t and will never force a particular religion on any of his children. He will only advise us to be close to God.
“My elder sister used to be a Muslim but changed to a Christian after marrying a Christian man. In fact, she is now a pastor in Kaduna.”

Asked if he is in a relationship, the male Barbie continued, “I am in a relationship but it’s ‘coded’. You don’t expect me to tell the world about my relationship. My marriage should be a breaking news. Let people say whatever they like now, I want the news about my marriage to be shocking, that is my dream.

“Many women come to me, even on Snapchat. Some will even curse me to gain my attention but they don’t get it. This gets them so mad and leave them with no other choice than to think I’m gay. Many women admire me but believe I am gay. Some will even tell me to only sleep with them. I get different comments even from older women.”

Bobrisky however noted that he is not really into women.
He said, “I am not a womaniser but that does not mean I can’t get down with a woman. One man’s food is another man’s poison. I am not the type who really loves sex or women. It takes a while for me to get into relationships. I went to a boarding school so I have been trained to be indoor.

“You hardly see me everywhere which makes it difficult to really be into women. I am only popular because God wants me to. I hardly attend parties or grant interviews. I didn’t struggle to be out there. Some habits are peculiar to men like drinking, smoking etc.”

Buhari jailed me 18 months for being rich – Anenih

Chief Tony Anenih has said that President Muhammadu Buhari jailed him for 18 months during his military administration, because he was wealthy.

The former Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party’s Board of Trustees was in prison between March 1984 and August 1985.

Writing in his biography titled ‘My Life and Nigerian Politics’, which was launched in Abuja over the weekend, Anenih stated that Buhari went about arresting politicians arbitrarily.

He said: “The military regime of General Buhari and Tunde Idiagbon threw me into detention for 18 months on the basis of an anonymous petition that as a prominent and wealthy politician and leader of the NPN in Bendel State, the military administrator would not find his footing unless I was removed from the scene.

“I was sent to Kirikiri Prisons where I spent three months before I was transferred to Ikoyi Prisons.”
The retired police officer, who announced his retirement from politics last week, insists he did not deserve such treatment.
Anenih added: “I must emphasise it again and again that I did nothing wrong to anyone, the government or the state to merit a detention. My crime was that I was a wealthy, influential and highly respected politician.”

He also revealed how some Governors were kept with criminals they had sentenced to death in the same cells.
“We were transferred to Ikoyi Prisons because of the riot that took place while we were there. The condemned prisoners whose death warrants had earlier been signed by Alhaji Lateef Jakande when he was governor of Lagos State, broke loose on sighting him as one of the detainees,” Anenih wrote.

“They broke out of their cells and headed towards the building where Jakande and the rest of us detainees were kept. As the prisoners were attempting to force the iron door open, mobile police were called in to quell the riot.

“Where we were staying, the bucket latrines or toilets had opening to the rooms. These buckets were emptied maybe once a week from behind, and if for any reason the buckets were not emptied once a week as the rule, you lived with the stench.

“At night, cockroaches, rats and lizards passed through these holes housing the bucket latrines into our cells after crawling on the buckets to disturb us. So, you could really not sleep for one hour without getting cockroaches perch on you.”
